The golden sun of Autumn is waning as this family closes down their lakeside cabin for the season. Boxes are packed, leaves are raked, dishes done and the boat is ready to haul out. The whole family is here, and does their share to make the old place safe and sound for one more winter. 
The smell of burning leaves tickles the senses and reminds us of wonderful Autumn days long past. A few mallards are coming in to rest for the night, in preparation for their long flight south tomorrow. 
This poignant scene will be repeated for many years to come. The seasons change and we change with them.
