Minnesota-based fine artist Mark Daehlin grew up in rural communities in the Upper Midwest. As a youth, he explored the hills, lakes, forests, farmland and prairies of his Wisconsin and Minnesota homes. Hunting, fishing and hiking were the highlights of these boyhood explorations.
This upbringing, coupled with travels that have taken him from Canada to Central America and from the Pacific Northwest to the Caribbean, have imbued his work with an deep and abiding appreciation for the creatures and places that inhabit the planet. Wildlife and wilderness are a key component of Mark's artwork and have been for his entire adult life.
Mark has experimented with a wide variety of media: Watercolor, oils, acrylic, airbrush, pencil and pen & ink. He is constantly experimenting with new materials and subject matter. These explorations have resulted in a highly detailed, realistic style.
Mark is also deeply aware of the spiritual aspect of nature, and sees the life force manifest in every living thing, animating its movement and ruling its cycles. This inner realm is what Mark reveals through his paintings and prints. This mission informs every aspect of his art and is its motivating force.
These traits mark a quick rise in the printed art world. Since his first print release in 1998, Mark has had fourteen different images published as fine art prints. Mark's work is gathering a faithful following and is sure to interest many more who discover his unique and spirited perspective on our world.
